A little follow up to the original post:
MILWAUKEE (KGUN9-TV/WTMJ-TV/WTMJ-AM) - Arizona's ongoing political
battles over immigration and border security have people all over the country talking. Arizonans are sometimes left to wonder if all those doing the talking know what they're talking about. In the case of one Wisconsin politician, that question appears to have been put to rest -- as least in terms of geography.
Milwaukee County Supervisor Peggy West recently spoke up and said that she had a hard time understanding why Arizona is so worked up on immigration issues, given that it doesn't share a border with Mexico.
Here is her exact quote, as reported by WTMJ-AM: "If this was Texas, which is a state that is directly on the border with Mexico, and they were calling for a measure like this saying that they had a major issue with undocumented people flooding their borders, I would have to look twice at this. But this is a state that is a ways removed from the border."
Arizonans are nothing if not friendly, however. Arizona Senator Jon Kyl, hearing about her confusion, took time out of his busy schedule to disabuse her of that notion. According to Newsradio WTMJ, Kyl sent West a letter correcting her. In the letter, Kyl said, "You will be interested to learn that Arizona does indeed share a border with Mexico. I have enclosed a map for your convenience." The map showed Arizona marked in big, bold letters,

Arizona’s Electrifying Response to the Left’s Boycotts-R-Us Campaign

Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything.
With the SEIU, the UFCW and the AFL-CIO up in arms over Arizona’s new immigration law (which enforces already-existing law), Obama administration officials Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano have admitted they haven’t actually read the law, despite their condemnation.
Meanwhile, the City of Los Angeles has opted to boycott the State of Arizona. According to union-bought backed Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa:
Boycotts work. We saw this in the early 1990s, when people last boycotted Arizona for the state’s refusal to observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: people canceled their vacations to Scottsdale and the Grand Canyon; conventions were moved from Phoenix to Los Angeles, and the NFL moved SuperBowl XXVII from Tempe to Pasadena.
In response to L.A.’s arrogant attempt to economically blackmail the Grand Canyon state, Arizona’s Corporation Commissioner gave the L.A. mayor a message: Two can play that game.
In a letter [see below] to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Arizona Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce said a boycott war is bad for both sides, and said he would “be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements” to end the electricity flowing to Los Angeles.
